Our Story

The company was formed in 1989 by the current Managing Director, David Salmon and has grown from humble beginnings based on the auction scene to the thriving business we have today. Although we still buy scrap and equipment from auctions we are now a more service based scrap metal buying company supplying bins and transport needs to many companies mostly in Melbourne but with affiliates throughout Australia. We also do demolition works (subcontract) and smaller factory and site cleanouts with our own staff.

We aim to provide good service, a fair price and carry out all jobs safely and in a workmanlike manner. Companies we do business with include Metro Trains, Yarra Trams, , John Holland, Coleman Rail, JC Smale Engineering, KSB Australia Downer and many more.

How We Work

We have stripping machines, shears, abrasive cutoff saws, oxy and plasma cutting equipment and all hand tools needed to carry out most jobs.

We have a late model Isuzu tilt slide with a 12 ton carrying capacity, a late model 4.5 ton small crane truck for small city jobs and an Isuzu 8x4 hook truck with up to 16 ton carrying capacity. We can also supply semi flat tops and cranage as required.

We can weigh up to 10 ton on our inhouse scales and have facility to weigh 1.5 ton off the crane on site. Any truck weighing is done on public weighbridges.

We have Infrared remote viewing cameras installed with up to the minute alarm system. A range of painted steel bins with company details and logo in sizes from 2 metres to 20 metres are available for regular use by customers.

Our current Factory and Yard location is at 20 James St, Laverton North, which is very close to all freeways, Transport companies etc. We offer 24 hour pick up (by arrangement) and most normal pickups are done within 24 hours of call.

All our operators are fully licenced on trucks and forks and have separate training for machinery used. We carry Public Liability Cover for $20,000,000.00.
